Housing is in short supply – everybody knows it but without a solution it will continue to go from bad to worse. Hewitt&Carr were approached by Stoke-on-Trent Housing Society to help deliver a high quality social housing scheme here in the city on the site of the former Gladstone Primary School.
We set out to deliver not just a home but a community, a development that offered that little bit more, looked that little bit different and delivered much needed housing to local residents.
The scheme comprised of 15 residential dwellings in a mix of one, two and three bed units. Each benefitted from off street parking, a good sized rear garden with direct access from not only their dwelling but from the fronts as well and ample living accommodation internally.
We utilised the levels to create interest in the main street scene not only stepping the houses up and down but backward and forward as well. Our aim was to create a development that could act as a beacon for residential development in our city for the future.
