One off house designs come in many forms from the “Grand Designs” to the smaller self builds, what is more they can happen at any time of life.
Hewitt&Carr Architects were asked to help a retired couple downsize from their large multi-level bungalow and build their forever home in the Staffordshire Moorlands. Asked to ensure that it catered for both their needs now and their future needs the end result was a split level bungalow with lower ground floor integrated garage with lift access to the main living accommodation at ground floor.
Constructed from red facing brick the home was designed to suit the local cottage architectural vernacular with Stone detailing to the bays, brick detailing to the eaves and verge and a brick constructed orangery to the side.
