Crestron Home Automation is a large international company with offices and showrooms in London and across the United States. They offer a fully integrated design service for the office and home environments. Hewitt&Carr were faced with an exciting opportunity to design the internal fit out, of a listed building in Leeds, to act as their new Northern Office and Retail Showroom.
As a development the existing structure posed many challenges. Creating a number of different experiences, from an office environment for the sales staff to work, a board room for those important client meetings and a residential area for testing and experiencing the technology in full flow.
Our solution was one of free standing structures, creating bespoke pieces of furniture that divided up the space – all along ensuring that nothing was fixed to the existing fabric of the heritage asset. The end result was one of modern design and clean lines with an industrial emphasis influenced by the building in which they were to be located.
